Atlanta, GA - Mobile Golf Events brought the ultimate 19th Hole experience to the famed parking lot tent at Hooters of Augusta during the 2016 Masters. Throughout the week over 875 golfers took their best shots on the golf simulator for a variety of chances to win big. One lucky winner would be awarded a grand prize pack worth over $2,000 for simply hitting the green in regulation. "The Shottery", as MGE dubbed their 3-ways-to-win contest, had golfers hitting three shots to a 150-yard, Par 3 on their golf simulator. Hit the Green, and golfers were entered into a drawing to win the Grand Prize Pack at the end of the week. Then, every two hours, from 3pm - 11pm, a new "Closet-to-Pin" Winner was crowned and awarded their choice of prizes. Hit a Hole-in-One and cash was king as a "The Shottery" Cash Jackpot that started at $200 was increased by $2 with every entry. One lucky golfer made an ace early in the week on Monday and was pumped to walk away with $370 cash in his pocket. But the Big Winner of the week was Dave Ylitalo from Stillwater, Minnesota. Dave entered the contest just one time, hitting the green, giving him one entry into MGE's Grand Prize Pack Drawing. There ended up being over 450 other qualifying entries for the week and Dave's name was randomly selected on the contest entry app used for the event. Here's what he won...
When he got the call notifying him that we was the big winner he was ecstatic! After receiving all of the prizes, he sent in the photo with all his gear along with this note... "I just wanted to say "THANKS" again to you and your team for a great event and a great prize package! The only way to make a trip to Augusta even better than the Masters itself... Getting a new package everyday has been like Christmas all over again. The Tour Striker, Orange Whip, and GolfGym training products have been fantastic and the $300 in Cobra-Puma gift cards have already been put to great use. My best golf buddy is begging for the TaylorMade M2 Driver - what a BEAST! Thanks again!" - Dave. Brett Gorney, PGA Director of Events for MGE stated, "It was a great week for everyone! Hooters of Augusta had never set up a golf simulator under their big tent before. This is the biggest event they do all year on a national scale and it turned out to be a huge win for everybody. Hooters management and staff were awesome to work with and I've got to give big praises to my team of Howie and Kara for a knockout job all week. Also I want to express a huge thanks to the companies who helped us with all of the prizes we gave away. - Tour Striker, Orange Whip, GolfGym, Cobra-Puma, and TaylorMade. We'll definitely be back next year." Mobile Golf Events is an Atlanta, GA based company run by PGA Professional, Brett Gorney.
