Our Story:
MGE was originally launched back in 2010 as "Atlanta Mobile Golf" by PGA Professional, Brett Gorney. Frustrated by Atlanta's infamous traffic snarls hindering golfers from reaching the driving range on time for lessons, Brett saw a unique solution and opportunity: bringing the "driving range" to them.
Armed with a portable golf net, hitting mats, a video camera, and a laptop, Brett pioneered "Mobile Coaching" inside corporate office buildings and fitness centers. Golfers could receive PGA Professional coaching without ever leaving their premises. However, Brett's adventurous golf career took him overseas to teach in Australia and then to a private club in Connecticut, putting the new Atlanta based venture on hold.
Returning to Atlanta in 2015, Brett received a few requests for golf simulator experiences at a couple of corporate events for some former clients. Recognizing an opportunity, he invested in one of the top golf simulator systems, marking the official relaunch of the business as Mobile Golf Events to broaden its reach beyond Atlanta. Since then, our unique business model has flourished, and even expanded with the creation of "The Team Golf Cup" - a highly engaging team-building experience that allows everybody to participate - even if they've never held a golf club before.
At Mobile Golf Events, we live by our motto:
"Our Passion is People. Our Platform is Golf. We Bring Golf Anywhere."
We're continually expanding our reach, serving esteemed clients such as Delta, Chick-fil-A, Coca-Cola, Informa Markets, Porsche, CVS Health, Nike, and CBRE to name a few. Outside of our Atlanta, Georgia home, our clients have brought us to Alabama, California, Florida, Illinois, Kentucky, North & South Carolina, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, Tennessee, and Texas, showcasing our dedication to delivering unparalleled golf experiences without boundaries.

How it started...
Mobile Golf Events originally began as Atlanta Mobile Golf back in 2010 when Brett Gorney, an independent PGA Teaching Professional, noticed a niche opportunity to better serve Atlanta's golf community. With Atlanta's notorious, horrific traffic making it difficult for golfers to reach the driving range on time after work, Brett decided to bring his coaching directly to the golfers. This led to the launch of Atlanta Mobile Golf, offering mobile PGA Professional coaching complete with video swing analysis and a mobile putting experience.
Brett's mobile coaching system was convenient, simple, and easily transportable, and he quickly attracted some notable companies like Coca-Cola, Microsoft, GE Energy and Philips Arena. Armed with a hitting net, mat, clubs, and balls, Brett set up 3-4 hour lesson blocks at corporate offices and fitness centers. Golfers could pre-register for 30-minute lessons or drop by for quick swing tips at the more open social events.
The technology was cutting-edge for its time. Using a mini-DV camcorder connected to a laptop via a FireWire cable, Brett recorded swings and analyzed them with golf swing analysis software. He then provided hands-on coaching and valuable swing tips, making golf instruction more accessible and fun for everyone.

A year later, Brett left Atlanta for a coaching opportunity in Australia and then at a private club in Connecticut. Returning to Atlanta a few years later, he received a call in early 2015 from a former client seeking his mobile coaching services plus a mobile golf simulator for a few big events. Seeing the added financial opportunity, Brett invested in a Foresight Sports GC2 launch monitor, a laptop, and FR1 simulator software. He pieced together, what's now known as "The O.G. Simulator", a portable golf bay with a 12' x 9' projection screen, and he relaunched the business as Mobile Golf Events to broaden its appeal beyond Atlanta.
How its going...
From 2015 through 2022, MGE operated as a "side hustle" until Brett met some fellow golf entrepreneurs who saw synergies between MGE and Atlanta Golf & Social, an indoor golf venue opening Chamblee, Georgia in spring 2023.
In 2023, Brett and AGS's Jeremy Williams invested in several more mobile golf simulators with newer technology and more efficient portable enclosures - bittersweetly "The O.G." was retired. LOL! And with the help of some energetic new coaches and staff, the team collectively increased events and grew company revenues by 300% from the prior year.
The first half of 2024 has already seen an increase of bigger events with more and more further away from our home base in Atlanta, GA. With the aggressive growth, we added Kevin Hannum as our new Director of Partnerships and Events and plan to hire more full time team members as we look to a promising future. Our vision is to launch more Mobile Golf Events business units across the United States and several strategic global markets.

About our Founder, Brett Gorney...
Brett Gorney has been serving golfers all over the world for over 35 years. His first job in golf was in 1989 when Hiland Golf Club opened in his hometown of Queensbury, NY. After graduating from the PGA's Professional Golf Management Program at New Mexico State University in 1995, Brett served as an Assistant Golf Professional at The Champions Club in Omaha, Nebraska and then at Janesville CC in Wisconsin. He shifted his focus to teaching golf and moved to Atlanta, Georgia in 1998 where he helped oversee the opening and operation of two GolfTEC indoor learning centers.
In 2000, Brett stepped into the international golf scene by accepting a teaching contract at the Discovery Bay Golf Club in Hong Kong. This led to an opportunity to play professional golf where he returned to Atlanta and competed on the 2001 NGA/Hooters Tour while flying back overseas to play in a few Asian PGA Tour events as well. Realizing that his game wasn't quite up to par for tour caliber golf, Brett turned his focus back to teaching and corporate golf events.
Over the past 23+ years, Brett has coached hundreds of golfers of all abilities from all over the world. He ran the golf program onboard the Star Princess Cruise Ship during 2007, traveled down under for a teaching contract in Brisbane, Australia in 2011, and in 2013 he helped run the golf operations at Ellington Ridge CC in Connecticut. Brett returned to Atlanta and Mobile Golf Events was launched in 2015. He also served for several years on the coaching team for Top-50 Golf Coach - Martin Chuck - and his world renowned, Tour Striker Golf Academy.
In 2014 he created a platform called MISSION 5IVE.14 which organized 9 mission trips to serve a children's home in El Salvador. This love for missions and serving others combined with Brett's passion for golf led to the launch of SERVANTEE - Purpose Driven Golf in 2018. Their mission is to inspire golfers to live purposefully - empowered by faith, relationships and servant leaderships. SERVANTEE organizes "Purpose Driven Golf" - Events and Trips that give golfers the opportunity to SERVE and TEE it up together. In 2019, he was honored with the Georgia PGA's 'Bill Strausbaugh Award' for outstanding involvement in charity and community activities - a testament to his heart for serving others.
Brett's credits his faith, his wife Melissa, family and close friends with helping encourage him to succeed in business and in life. In his free time he enjoys quality time and activities with his wife, getting together with friends, serving in the community, staying active and fit, cooking great meals and traveling the world.

In his own words...
"Throughout my career in the golf business the most important lesson I've learned has nothing to do with a little white ball, a good swing and a tiny hole far off in the distance. The most important lesson I've learned from the game of golf revolves around building authentic relationships.
I value and honor my relationships with others above everything else in this world and I'm blessed to be able to use golf as a means to forge and nurture those relationships. Golf has given me the opportunity to travel all over the world and connect with people from all walks of life. It is through these relationships, that I find wisdom, happiness, accountability, strength, encouragement, and a love for serving others.
Golf is a game that reveals character, integrity and the spirit that resides inside of you. It will test your temper, humble you and shake your moral fibers. More importantly, golf allows for companionship with friends and an opportunity to show grace, kindness and generosity to others.
So I encourage you...don't look at golf as just a challenging game that can make you pull your hair out or jump for joy when you hole out from off the green. But look at golf as a way to learn about the people you're spending time with and how you can add value to their life. Look at it as a way to put a smile on someone's face and in their heart. Look at it so that you might ask yourself at the end of your "round of life", what mattered to you most...the big drives and great shots...or the person that remembers you for making a positive impact in their life?"
